of Chicago Rooftop Garden
On top of Chicago's City Hall in the Loop is the Roof Top Garden
Project. The Project had its first planting in 2000. It was conceived
as a demonstration project and was part of the City's Urban Heat
Island Initiative. This initiative's purpose was to test the benefits
of green roofs and how they affect temperature and air quality.It
has over 20,000 plants of more than 100 species, including shrubs,
vines and two trees.

The Chicago Botanic Garden is really a garden comprised of 26 gardens.
From the English Walled Garden to the wild Midwestern Prairie, specialty
gardens
and native habitat areas show the diverse beauty of nature. Located
north of Chicago in Glencoe.
